LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
Next to the Gem Hotel there is the Fantazia 2001 Disco. Although there is music most nights of the week with the likes of 'Nuclear Natty Dread', Wednesday night is hopping, with a big turnout from all over the island.  If nightly disco isn't your thing, better to stay a 10 min walk away on or near Grand Anse Beach.

ACCESS TO BEACH:
Public beach with easy road access. Parking at the Gem or on the roadway. A 10-minute stroll from the southern end of Grand Anse. 


QUALITY OF BEACH:
Beautiful, tranquil, protected horseshoe-shaped cove. Exceptionally calm water. 

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
A popular beach with locals - known as BBC beach - and usually quiet until the local party boat 'Rhum Runner' pulls in. This brings the vendors. When the boat leaves so do they. Tranquility resumes. Or you could choose to join the floating party...
